Mike Landry/Village Vignetteshop about  Precision Engraver #004S - (Needs Power):

This customer purchased the item at our site.
I use the Precision Engraver to carve bricks and stonework in my holiday village displays, where it turns an otherwise tedious task into a breeze!
This tool may not be the best approach for those going for realism in a very small scale where the tip might be too big for very fine lines (I'm thinking true realistic scale models).
However, for the stonework in holiday village displays, where true scale doesn't matter as much and we're not always striving for perfect realism, the Precision Engraver is a true lifesaver!

Mike Landry/Village Vignetteshop about  Pro Freehand Router Kit with Single-Heat Pro Power Station #K40F-1:
Feb 10, 2015
This customer purchased the item at our site.
When making holiday village displays, I use the Freehand Router for everything from stairs to cliffs to rivers to graves and wire channels. The wire is much stiffer than the Sculpting Tool's, which allows for much more accuracy when carving (it doesn't move or change shape as long as you let the wire do the work!)
Once the wire has been bent and shaped, it's quite difficult to return it to a pure straight line (the wire stays wavy) but I think that's just the nature of the wire. You could bend wires to specifics shapes that you reuse often and swap them out when needed, so you're not bending the wire too often.
Overall this tool is a lifesaver when you need to carve into a foam surface. I highly recommend it for any village display enthusiast.
