The Industrial Hot Knife kit has been one of the most useful tools I have used in carving foam. I have used it to cut down major pieces, trim small ones, and create channels in foam that I use for strong and detachable mounts for tombstones and even wings on a TIE Advanced costume for Magic Wheelchair.
It is a seriously powerful tool with a whole lot of applications. The variety of blades, the ability to customize a cut, and the temperature control make this a versatile tool that saves me time as well as effort. My projects would take easily a third to twice as long without it.
Been playing with the Crafters Deluxe 3 in 1 Kit. Just made and trees in 2 inch foam. Made my own pattern and traced it on to foam. Used the knife and engraver. They worked really well. Impressed with how easily it cut. I have a lot to learn and many options to yet explore with them. Will be making mountains for my Christmas Village this year also, excited to see how they turn out. I’m really pleased with the tools!
