Foam Fusion Glue

Creates a strong bond that's foam-safe!

Our Foam Fusion is the ultimate foam glue for EPS and XPS! It permeates the foam and bonds around its cells. Other glues containing solvents will dissolve foam over time, but our formula is nontoxic and solvent-free. Our glue is not affected by heat or cold as with glue guns, and it does not expand.

It works with most rigid foams including polystyrene foams, like Styrofoam, white beaded EPS foam, and XPS foams (blue and pink board). Foam Fusion bonds foam to almost any porous surface and is easy to apply - simply brush or squeegee on. Apply a very thin layer on each side - it goes a long way. Available in 4 sizes.

Instructions:

Coverage
Amount Coverage
8oz: 50 ft2 (25 ft2 x 2 sides)
16oz: 100 ft2 (50 ft2 x 2 sides)
32oz: 200 ft2 (100 ft2 x 2 sides)
1 Gallon 800 ft2 (400 ft2 x 2 sides)

*Hot Wire Foam Factory tools will cut through this glue.

For use with XPS: XPS foam (blue and pink board) sometimes has a plastic "skin" on it, and that will have to be removed before gluing. Sometimes the plastic can be easily peeled off, otherwise lightly sanding the surface should remove enough of the plastic to allow the glue to grip the foam.

What customers are saying:
"I tried the sample of Foam Fusion, looked at it, and thought I could substitute Elmer’s glue for it. When I did my project, I was very sorry I tried the substitution. Two weeks later, the foam pieces were falling apart with the white glue being totally wet like when I poured it. I had the HWFF people explain that Elmer’s (or plain white glue) is air dry, while Foam Fusion is a chemically drying product. I will never make that mistake again, and I wish I had the two wasted weeks back!"

What is the difference between your foam glues?

Here is a brief comparison of all of our glues. We really like Foam Fusion because it is nontoxic, but it takes more patience.

Foam Fusion:

  • foam-safe
  • non-toxic
  • sets up in 30-60 minutes
  • dries overnight (longer with XPS foam)
  • can only be use on porous materials
  • must be put on very thin, so best for flat sheets of foam
  • the most economical foam glue
  • can be cut through with hot wire tools, but slows the cut down

StyroGoo:

  • foam-safe
  • toxic and flammable while setting up
  • sets up in minutes
  • dries in 3-6 hours (longer with XPS foam)
  • can be used on porous materials, plus glass, plastic, metal, painted surfaces, etc.
  • has body to it, so can be used on uneven surfaces
  • can be cut through with hot wire tools, but slows the cut down a little more than with Foam Fusion

Spray Glue:

  • Foam-safe
  • Allow 3 minutes before joining, then instant tack
  • Dries in 1 hour
  • can be used on porous materials, plus glass, plastic metal, painted surfaces, etc.
  • must be put on somewhat thin, so best for flat sheets of foam
  • can be cut through with hot wire tools, but slows the cut down a little more than with Foam Fusion

Boost added to powdered foam coats:

  • foam safe
  • non-toxic
  • sets up in 30min with All Purpose and Create Coat, and 90min with Exterior Foam Coat
  • dries 30-60min with All Purpose and Create Coat, and overnight with Exterior Foam Coat
  • can be used on porous plus glass, metal, painted surfaces, etc (cannot even be chipped off metal with a hammer)
  • has body to it, so can be used on uneven surfaces
  • cannot be cut through with hot wire tools

Will foam fusion bond EPS to pressure treated plywood? does it expand?

As long as the plywood is not waterproofed, Foam Fusion will bond to it.. If you splash water on it, does the water soak in enough to leave a dark stain?

No, it does not expand. And, you should apply very thin layers for best adhesion.

I bought a gallon of Foam Fusion 8 years ago and just pulled it off my shelf. It seems to work very well in applying epson heavyweight paper to acoustical drop ceiling tiles. Everything else has failed. The bond is incredible. I am working with a non-profit org and I am interested in purchasing at least 22 gallons for an art installation at a public school in Philadelphia.

This is great stuff. Not a glue, it actually fuses the surfaces, and you can cut it easily with the foam tools. Regular glue hardly worked, but this is super!

Ken Curry, 05-26-2016

Not difficult to use works well for the job it is intended for.

Terese Agnew, 03-20-2016

Ever since I started using Foam Fusion I realized we are living in the Golden Age of Glue. This stuff is so strong, versatile and easy--nothing compares. I also appreciate the fact that there are no fumes. I've been using it to attach wood parts to foam and in the one instance that a tiny wood piece was knocked off a foam sculpture-it came off 1/4" into the foam it was attached to--meaning--the fusion was total....this was not a problem with the glue. I would highly recommend this for anyone gluing foam, and foam to wood or other porous surfaces.

I used Foam Fusion to glue down the foam backed dash board covering on my Mercury Milan. It is a common problem with this vehicle that it buckles on the passenger side at the airbag seam. Most glues are not suitable to repair this sort of problem because they dissolve the foam when you apply it. This is not the case with Foam Fusion. It is perfect for just that purpose. The dashboard looks like new after the repair and it has not come loose again. This is an excellent product.

Mary Whittemore, 10-26-2017

This product is amazing. It really is a strong bond and you use so little of it to make that happen.

Dee Rock, 12-12-2017

Perfect glue for any foam project. Worked as expected.

Davis Graveyard, 06-05-2018

In all our years of working with foam glue, this product is the best hands down. Our crew now swears by this product and it is the go-to glue in our shop. If you have to glue foam pieces together, it is the easiest glue to cut through (and sand).

Gerry Paolino, 08-21-2018

I couldn't wait to try this glue on two wood curl wreaths that were made with Styrofoam. Both had fallen and cracked in two. Couldn't find a glue that would hold them together until I saw Foam Fusion on YouTube. My wreaths are rock solid now - I won't use any other glue for Styrofoam.

Emmanuel Lewis, 03-04-2019

Works well, didn't leave a mess. Glue held & dried pretty well.

Rebecca van Cleve, 03-06-2019

Foam Fusion is a great non-toxic alternative to other foam glues.

Daniel Demarest, 03-25-2019

Great stuff, thank you!

Chad Carroll, 05-28-2021

I have been using foam fusion for my projects and it works great for me! In my signs I paint all the pieces before assembling, and for example where a letter will be glued to the background I leave the outline of the letter not painted on the background so it will be raw foam on both pieces for the fusion to adhere to.
