The Industrial Hot Knife certainly beats cutting with a razor knife. The razor is a thing of the past. After doing several test cuts in scrap material to get the temperature right it was as simple as holding the trigger, just like drawing with a marker. Forming the shapeable blades to use with the sled guide was slightly more challenging and had a longer learning curve but still made cutting grooves easy. The only problem encountered was a screw head on the hot knife that wouldn't allow the allen wrench to fit. I just used an old wrench I had since it was worn and tightened the screw. This is definitely a quality tool and I highly recommend it.

LOVE this product, it has been used for several foam projects. Have built a small castle entrance with this as well as unicorn horns for a real horse etc. Still have not discovered all this tool will do but it is very versatile.

I love my Hot Wire Foam Factory hot knife. I specialize in packing and shipping antiques and artworks, so I cut foam all day long. I have used my HWFF hot knife for 3 years with no issues. It is a true heavy duty tool. The cord is long and switching blades is a breeze. I could not be more satisfied.
