The Industrial Hot Knife certainly beats cutting with a razor knife. The razor is a thing of the past. After doing several test cuts in scrap material to get the temperature right it was as simple as holding the trigger, just like drawing with a marker. Forming the shapeable blades to use with the sled guide was slightly more challenging and had a longer learning curve but still made cutting grooves easy. The only problem encountered was a screw head on the hot knife that wouldn't allow the allen wrench to fit. I just used an old wrench I had since it was worn and tightened the screw. This is definitely a quality tool and I highly recommend it.
I can not rate this product as high as other have before me. The big draw back to me is setting the wire in a prefect 90 degree angle to the work surface of the table. I could get it 90 degree in the direct foward position. But if a needed to change diection of cut. Required when cutting some thing larger then the length of the table. It would always have a slight angle. No matter how much effort I put into try to get the wire straight vertical. It is a good tool for cutter with something clamped to the table surface as a fence. Helps to get the strightest line cuts possible with the crafting tools.
